I had no idea what to pay and never expected him to say he works off donations and if I would not hav had dead deer each time I would not hav paid as much
Art Powers out of Selma - dog was great - he had to travel hour first time and prob 80 miles second - first track hard - second we could hav found by ourselves - huge blood trail but my son needed his fist pump moment badly and I was trying to ensure success $200 first track $225 second
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever

I’m sure they take it all. Most folks won’t take cash planning on tipping for a dog. Ya, my thinking also. It's rare I have $20 let alone enough to provide an adequate payment.

Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

I called a guy out a week and a half or so ago. I shot a big buck, didn’t feel great about the shot. ( next day I found my scope out of whack). Shot the gun prior to season and into season and it was fine. Don’t know what happened.
Either way, I called the guy about coming the next day, he offered and wanted to come that night. At 9pm we started the track.. at 330am, 3 miles later and after hiking from the very top of skyline to the bottom of the Mtn, we called it quits and was back at the truck. I was super impressed with the dog, but unfortunately we didn’t recover the deer. After finding the first few pools of blood within a hundred yards of the shot, I would have guaranteed the deer be dead.
I handed the guy 200 and felt like a bum only paying him that. It was all I had on me.
A man could offer me 3k cash right now to go to our property tonight. Start at 9pm, track across a few creeks, across a road, across our whole property, across the neighbors property, drop over 1k feet of elevation through bluff country and limestone rocks (all while the fog set in as thick as could be) and turn around and walk back to the truck.....and I would tell them to shove that money.
He said normally he charges 75, but I couldn’t make myself short him like that.
I’ll tell you this though, he and his dog sure did seem to enjoy every minute of the agony we went through. LOL
Brad Whitmire is his name and I would recommend him to anyone ever needing a dog.

My sons first buck I called a dog because of a high shot, dog showed up at 9, deer was on the back of the keep by 9:45. Tracker told me no charge just glad he can help and I insisted to pay him, he wouldn’t take the money because he said his dog was young . I walked over and stuck a 50 in his seat of his truck, while he was loading the dog. Would have have whatever he wanted
Let them walk ...and grow them big

I've called one. Told me if they didn't find the deer I wouldn't owe them anything. Didn't find it.
