I think you would be better off with the 7 Mag.
Agreed. Unless you will be hunting where shots routinely exceed 500 yards, I don't see any advantage. Even then, a 7 RM or 300 WM will get the job done. A lot of recoil and muzzle blast for an extra 100-200 FPS. At long distance, accuracy is paramount, as is using bullets that will expand when hitting a deer at 800 yards. If you cannot shoot 1/2 MOA or better off the bench with it, you shouldn't be taking long range (> 500 yards) shots, and you must practice. Ballistics tables are not always correct. I have several friends with these big boomers and even developed handloads for a couple of them. I just don't have much desire to own one. But if it's what you want, go get one. ...and practice with it. 👍
