Looking for recommendations on wireless cameras.....ideally would like 2-3 cameras - 1 for the driveway, one for the pool and then a 3rd looking out in the front yard for the sole purpose of looking at a deer feeder. They'll need to be weatherproof, I want to be able to monitor them from my phone (presumably through an app). I'd want to be able to set them up to notify me if motion was detected but also just pull them up and watch live at any time. They'd need to have a decent range (the farthest camera would be about 35yds from the front door.

We briefly tried a Blink XT2 at our old house on the front door but I was unimpressed, however it was mainly because where it was setup, people walking to the front door were walking straight at the camera and apparently they all struggle with head-on motion....maybe they'd work fine for what I posted above.

I think the Arlo Pros would meet all these requirements, but a 3 camera set is like $500. Honestly, I'd love to find something cheaper. I've found some on Amazon that claim they can do all the above for $50-70/camera, but I'd be skeptical unless I had some direct feedback from someone that actually used them.

I recently got a Reolink Go wireless camera for my construction site. It uses a SIM card and is powered by a rechargeable battery and small solar panel. The app is pretty solid, the camera has night vision, motion sensor, a small mic and speaker for two way comes, & and will send notifications to your phone. They also have one with PTZ capability. Not sure if it is exactly what your looking for but it's perfect if you don't have access to power and wifi.

Following this.
I don’t want to deal with a monthly subscription so prefer a stand alone recorder.
I’ve looked at all of them but can’t seem to find the right one.

I've got the outdoor blink cameras, don't recall the model number, but they've worked great for me. I've got one on my front door, one on the back, and one inside seems like they pick up motion fine.

We have five of the Blink XT outdoor cameras set up. They've worked great and have been up for about 6 months. Night vision is excellent and the speaker function has come in handy as well. I have our cameras set up to have a "cross fire" type affect. It covers every square foot of our yard, back door, garage, driveway and front door. So far so good. I bought steel RAM type aftermarket mounts and covers that have a sun shade on them. They allow you to position the cameras at any angle you want, unlike the plastic factory mounts.

Lorex has a completely wireless multi-camera setup. You would have to pull the batteries out of the cameras and charge them every month or so. I bought one for the camp but we ended up going with Blink cameras. The lorex is sitting in a box in my garage somewhere.

I know you mentioned Blink. My buddy and I were talking about cameras just this morning. He sent me these links from Amazon Christmas deal I assume

I am looking hard at Wyze. Cheaper than Blink and 14 days cloud storage for free. You can add "cam plus" for $2 a camera per month.

I’ve been pleased with my Wyze cameras

They’re also more than cameras.

The smart bulbs with sensors work great. Walk in the front door and a lamp turns on.
Smart plugs, smart bulbs, thermostat and a bunch of other stuff.

Questions for you two...

1. What kind of range do they have in terms of picking up motion?

2. Do they have a smartphone app and does it notify you when they sense motion so you can immediately watch "live"

3. Assuming "yes", how long the delay is between picking up motion and getting a notification?

4. Can you "manually" just open the app and watch live any time you want?

5. Do they have 2-way communication?

6. Any idea how far the cameras can be placed from the "hub"?

7. Do they have cloud storage where you can go back and watch past events? If so, is there a fee and how long does it save?

Happy with our blink camera. Had to adjust settings so I wasn’t capturing every car that passed, but once adjusted has worked well.

May want to google search wyze cams. Alot a people are reporting that the cameras report to chinese servers. I do not know if it's true or not, but the cameras are china made. Be a hell of a note if the chinese and the Bidens where spying on you through your own camera.

I used Bink XT2 as well. 4 cameras. Must have wifi for them to work. 1 year so far so good. Use lithium AAs. Battery life depends on how you adjust settings.
I have to replace batteries abouy every 6 months, not 2 yrs like ad says. Buy still worth every penny.
I am very pleased w mine.

I jumped on the Ring bus. I'm not sure if it was a great idea however. It primarily utilizes our wireless network for connectivity, but the alarm base can covert to cellular if the wireless goes down. Early on we only had a Ring doorbell and floodlight. We could pull live feeds quickly. Now I've added another 20-30 devices as part of that Ring system and I've noticed significant latency in pulling live views. I pay to host content in the cloud in case I need it for legal reasons.

If I were building a home and install a wired system with local and off-site storage.

Been here long enough to go from "bring 'da pain" to " bring 'da pain meds.

Amcrest IP2m-841B-V3 or any of the similar variants. They don't claim to be weatherproof but a ton of people use them outside with no issues mounted under an eave. Motorized pan, tilt, software zoom (no actual zoom lens) and 2 way audio. They are 5 times the camera you can get with any level of arlo, blink or wyze.

Set up a nvr or dvr recorder onsite and you have 24/7 recording ability.

Get on IPcamtalk, read all of the stickies/faq/self help and see what others who are knowledgeable are using in that price range. 45 clams from the manufacturer and you can find them for a little less occasionally.
