Muddy’s are nice - keeps wind off - windows all around - the long ones on each corner - one I was in comfortable for 2 but sure they got diff sizes
Don’t know if anybody commented on the redneck Hunting house - think 257 said he sat in one when he killed his deer the other day - he could prob tell u bout that
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever

John d how high was that stand with metal steps? Did u make those or buy them? I want to do stairs on any new stands because I am getting uncomfortable going up ladders due to age and arthritis. The legs are eight ft tall and the window of the shooting house is around 12 ft. I built all the steps and catwalk on both the shooting houses. On one they come out and turn and the other they come straight out. I recently bought a new piece of property so I’m building these so I’ll never have to repair or work on one for a very long time.

Last few I built were 64" x 64" I used 16' centers and it worked out great. To save a little money I used 2x3" studs from lowes. Also found some 1/4" exterior (exposure1) plywood. That was rare to find I usually have to go with 3/8" plywood.
I have more money in the posts and base\floor (all treated) but I dont want to fall through it in a few years. I buy 10' posts (4x4) and set them 2 feet into the ground. Put a 2x4 brace about 2 feet from the ground and 2x4 X braces all all 4 sides. Floor is supported by 2x6 on 16" centers. The last couple I built had 64" x 96" bases, (porch) this allows my old ass a little more comfort and security getting in.
I have a friend in construction and will buy busted extension ladders from him. I also pickup bad mixed exterior paint (any color) from Lowes. sometimes ill buy a quart of the cheapest exterior paint and have them tint it as close to black as possible. Then mix all the colors in a bucket and add the black until I get a gray\green color.
Edit:
forgot to mention I have replaced some old wooden ladders on a couple of elevated shooting houses (that will break and make you fall) with 1 man ladder stands, these are stands that dont have the porch. I can cut the ladder off at the length that I need and cut the railing at the back off and attach right under the door. I can open door and step out onto the Ladder seat, then turn around and walk down the ladder. I think I bought one at academy in the spring for $69. Cant hardly build a ladder for that much money.

IF money was no object, MB Ranch King. Money is an object, so we build 4' X 5' houses ( $350 labor & materials) and buy EZ Tower brackets and install 4x4 posts. to get them 8 feet off the ground.

Do not buy a sportsman’s condo! There are many others that are much better. BTW, if they blow over, they will not break???? No, you are correct, they will shatter.
