It may be a better option to get a 98" - 100" 4K LCD screen - I suspect the picture quality would be better in all light conditions and overall better experience.

We bought one off of Amazon. Don’t remember the brand but it was their top choice. It was only about $200.00. We love it.

I have a 110” and my projector has been great for years. I probably need to upgrade but it still works fine so I hate to get rid of it. My picture is great but my room has no windows. It’s an Epson projector.

I’ve had a projector on my deck for years. First one lasted so long the replacement bulbs were almost as much as a new projector with far better specs concerning lumens, contrast etc. lots of fake Chinese crap on amazon (as if I had to say that). I’ve spent embarrassingly long hours researching this stuff. I have a 98-99” screen I think because plywood is only 4 ft tall (for this use) just need to lop off some inches to get the correct ratio. If you go home made like I did save your money for the paint. It makes a huge difference. I can watch my projector outside on all but the sunniest days. PM me your number or email and I’ll send you some pics or will happy to talk about it if you wish. My projector is a BenQ and for what I paid $5-600 for it. Projector technology has come a long way and prices have come way down.

A projector, to my knowledge, could not top LED picture quality.

I have an epson as well on a 124 inch screen. Picture quality is fantastic, but that is a theater room where I can make it pitch black

I can assure you the best quality for the $$ is a projector....in most cases. A quality projector doesn’t cost $15k. A high end home projector is in the $4-5k range. I get 1080 HD quality out of mine. It’s not 4k. Personally the jump in price isn’t worth the small improvement (again my opinion). Mine is outside so ambient light is a big factor. Yes it can get washed out. Still fine to me on all but brightest days. Night time, it’s like a movie theater. Put a Buttkicker LFE under a deck and you’ll feel every every blast.

The surface you’re projecting onto will have a lot to do with it as well.
A screen would be the easiest and probably the cheapest. But if you could find a guy to finish the wall to level 5 and put a recommended paint on it, it’d take up less space and maybe give a better picture.

This is true. I should have been more clear about that statement. There are a lot of cheap projectors that post false or misleading information or just outright lies. The quality projectors are probably all made In China as well. Just stick with the known brands and don’t fall for the cheap hype no-name stuff

BenQ projector and a screen bigger than you think you need!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, I'm serious about the BenQ, and am still serious about the screen, however, the screen size could depend on the width of your room. As you can tell in Jaben's photos, there is some screen not used up. The quality of the screen is important, because you don't want one too thin. I bought everything on Am%^&. I got the screen that can be automatically raised and lowered, but honestly have not raised it since I bought it. I saw the BenQ at a bar and grill at the beach and loved the quality. I have a 125" 16:9 screen. I would rather watch regular TV, ballgames, and movies on it, than my Samsung "super duper, curved, platinum, ion busting, OLED super nova quad Ram Jet," TV. The fact is the Samsung cost me twice what the BenQ and screen set up cost. I did not by the cheap $325 65" TV, I did buy in the upper echelons, and the BenQ is still better.
