I figured I'd chime in here since I just bought a new Walther P22Q last week and went to shoot it last Friday. I also have a S&W 2214. These are small handguns with a barrel length of less than 5 inches which many say require the high velocity ammo to force the blow back gases to eject the shell. The Walther was not ejecting the shells like it should. I was using Winchester and Remington high velocity ammo around 1250 fps. I got home and did some reviews on the gun and it seems that is a common problem if you are not using high velocity ammo. Now I'm being told to clean the gun real gun with some break free. I didn't think I needed to clean a new gun but I will give it a try. So my advice is for you to figure out what gun you like then maybe google it and research it to see if anyone is having any issues with it.
