Good Lord! You can immediately tell who know about calibers and those who are still looking at the hole in the ground trying to figure out if it is their ass!

Simply put, different calibers are made because it is cool! I love cool guns and cool calibers! I have been in this game a long time! Once and for all, if you use a good bullet and place it where it is suppose to go, everything from a .223 to a .50BMG will work.

If you disagree, read this again before you post something stupid, again.
If you still disagree, that is either a hole in the ground over there or your ass, you go figure it out!

Wait.....what?? .270 wouldn’t do what? And a 30-06 did what and you did what with the scope? Oh good lord! There just are no words! Except, well never mind it really doesn’t matter........

I have a TC creedmor. I don't wear skinny jeans and I stand up to use the bathroom. I bought it because of recoil from other calibers. I can't shoot hard kicking guns because of spinal issues. Make fun all you want.

Jack O’Connor killed EVERY animal in North America with a 270. That’s a good enough for me.

I bought a 270. Just would not put them down like the ol 06. Took the scope off of it after 2 seasons and about 8 deer. and went back to where I belong. Fine caliber. Not for me.

Then you have an ammo or accuracy issue.

2 with Hornady Interlock. The rest with130 Gr Noslar Partitions Chronographed at 3200 through both lungs and heart. All but one, which dropped, ran anywhere from 50 to 100 yards, leaving very little if any blood. All dead deer, but I do not like to look for them especially with no blood. Two of those deer I did not find until the next day due to poor blood trail. The meat was ruined. All the numbers suggest that it should be the perfect deer caliber. My experience was less than desirable. You might be right, maybe a different bullet would help with this problem, but after loosing two deer I was done with it. What bullet do you shoot in the .270.

I like the 140 grain Sierra game kings. I've only been able to recover one bullet. It was a perfect mushroom and weigh 124 grains. It only lost 16 grains. I think deer are like people. Some just have more of a will to live than others.

I shot a buck with a 30-06 150 gr corelokt. Deer went 80 yards with no blood trail what so ever. When dressed, the heart was liquid. Some deer are just tougher than others....

Yep sometimes they are gonna run now matter what. Maybe blaming the caliber is the wrong thing to do. But when you are used to seeing them fall, and you change guns, then no longer have the same results, you have to ask why. The easiest thing was to go back to what I know works.

Truth. But by all accounts was a horrible shot and burned more powder big game hunting than most bird hunters.

I bet a 22lr or 22short has killed more deer in the state of Alabama than any
mentioned in this post..

Well I will take my Ruger # 1 270 and shoot with anyone I had a Winchester model 70 270 that was something else but I shoot left handed so I think one of my grandsons has it. It is not the calaber it’s the guy pulling the trigger 🇺🇸

I still hunt with my 742 30 06. Been dropping there ass dead since I was 14 and I'm 52 now. Wife and daughter shoot 270 and 308. Lot of people bad mouth the 742 but it's never let me down all these years.

I own a couple creeds and they kill deer just as good as 308 270 243 and if owning one makes me a pusscake I'll wear that tag proudly

Of the Creedmoor, I actually had someone who ought to know better tell me “Gravity doesn’t affect it like it does other bullets.”
I said, “Brah, what’re you smoking cause I want a hit.”

“Killing tomorrow’s trophies today.”

On the distance I like to walk to my stands:
“The first 100 yards is also the last 100 yards.”
