Wife and are camping at the Lake Guntersville State Park this weekend but all I have on my mind is hunting. I see theres some parcels of TVA surrounding the lake. Per the TVA website it says that you can hunt it all so long as its not posted otherwise. I'm bringing my boat and might check out a couple locations. Is there any certain areas besides the state park that are TVA land but you aren't allowed to hunt? The only thing I saw was a forever wild track that said closed to hunting. I am new to TVA land and there is not a lot of information so I just want to make sure I am not doing some illegal. I'll find some spots myself but I am just curious if anyone else on here hunts out there? A simple yes or no is fine I am not looking for any information on spots.

I know right? Saw 30 deer in the campground and 3 nice bucks right by the no hunting sign,

I didn't click on the link that Clem posted but be aware that much of it is bow only or small game and/or waterfowl hunting only.

Thats not right, there are a few places scattered around..but for the most part its all basic open permit rules..you can hunt it with a rifle when state season opens but its bucks only accept for about a week and a half that you can shoot either sex. There actually aint that mutch land anywhere thats tva bow only..maybe some over towards decatur or florence...but far as i know we only got one place near us. I have been all over tva land all up and down the river all my life..good luck..most of its useless.

Easiest way to explain tva land...its basically the same as national forest land.

If u stay up around the park ... up river will be ir best bet or over around the honeycomb area ... there aint enough land in browns creek after the tornado to hunt anymore

Just get out there and hunt, the game warden will let you know if your in the wrong spot.

The hunter to deer ratio is much better in the park.
