Biologically, there’s absolutely no reason not to kill either one, as they both appear to be 5 or older. Any 5 year old is a trophy regardless if he scores 100” or 150”. You should be proud to get the chance to kill a mature deer in AL, whether it be one or both of them. There’s more to a trophy than whether it’s getting mounted or not. Sounds like you have control of the property, so it shouldn’t matter if you want to mount it or throw it in a ditch. Go kill em. This is what I was looking for. My main objective isn't necessarily to kill a trophy but mainly to take out at least one good 5+ year old deer to make room for some younger bucks with potential. If given the opportunity I will kill either one of them now... or both if lucky enough. Thanks for the replies.

This would not apply to me very often - I can count on one r 2 hands the times I hav killed 2 bucks in same season - but if I had killed 2 and we only get 3 tags - I may save the last tag for a whopper if I no I got him on my property
Probably selfish - but I am paying my money and that is the way I would likely choose to do it
And I am doing good to see 1 mature deer a year and proud to see any I do see
The trigger pull is based on the hunter preference
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever
