Buck #1 is a 6x3 with a funky rack that I believe to be 5+. There are lots of younger bucks around that have his same characteristics with jacked up racks. He has a bad habit of showing up fairly often in daylight. I will try to take him for sure if given the opportunity.

Buck #2 has started showing up recently but not during daylight yet. I believe he's 4+ but not sure how old. Any guesses on age for buck #2?

I have lots of groceries for them and the immediate area doesn't get hunted really. Right now I'm leaning towards letting buck #2 walk if I see him. If someone else happens to kill him so be it.

Round ‘bout there

I have one similar to No. 1 and if he shows up, he's dead.

I'd shoot both of these. Meat in the freezer.

I would only shoot the first one, unless I had 2 arrows!

#2 looks older than #1 to me. 2 looks like he might be 5 or older. He's probably close to as good as he's going to get

This place kills me. 99% of Aldeer members would kill both without hesitation but when they're at the keyboard, they talk about lettin em walk. I'd kill both as soon as the shot was presented.

Speak for yourself dude, I wouldn't shoot either one. I've passed a bunch better than either one of those. I don't kill if I'm not shoulder mounting them, I ain't spending $400 on either one of those.

I've killed a bunch that were better than both of these deer. I've also killed more than a bunch that were smaller than these deer. I'm also not so righteous that I only kill a deer to mount. I shoot what makes me happy, glad you do the same.

My whole point, what most people say they do is different than what they actually do when they're in the woods.

99% is painting with a pretty broad brush. There's plenty of brown, it's downers here I'm sure but there's quite a few accomplished hunters here too. Different strokes for different folks. I'm 73 yrs old and I've killed enough deer to fill up a box car or 2. I don't kill them just to be killing them. At my stage of hunting, there's a lot more to hunting than whacking a deer. I'm pretty sure I'm not alone on that. On our lease, you kill a buck, you mount it. If you like it, kill it and take it to the taxidermist. Kill too many young bucks, find another place to hunt

I'd shoot both, twice, then choke them out with my drag rope just to be sure.

Biologically, there’s absolutely no reason not to kill either one, as they both appear to be 5 or older. Any 5 year old is a trophy regardless if he scores 100” or 150”. You should be proud to get the chance to kill a mature deer in AL, whether it be one or both of them. There’s more to a trophy than whether it’s getting mounted or not. Sounds like you have control of the property, so it shouldn’t matter if you want to mount it or throw it in a ditch. Go kill em.
