It’s be a bitch turning a baler in a tight with duals. I did however take hay with a 4960 one day cause the 7210 went down. Had to watch the tines on the rake and duals when turning. Man I loved that 4960

I’d want a 60 series. A 4x6 roll of hay “rocks” a 6000 series pretty good while you’re sitting still while net wrap is being put on.

What you need is a jd 4240 4440. Easy to work on and no computer crap to screw up. plenty of power to pull any dry hay baler.

Thumbs up. Some of the best tractors jd ever put out. My only complaint about the soundgard deeres' is one gripe about the "synchro range" transmissions. "psycho range" is a better description. I honestly don't know what the good guys in waterloo were thinking when they came up with that. Anybody thats ever operated this tran should know what I mean.

It doesn’t matter. It smoked IH at the time. Deere left IH in the dust in those days with the SG cab

I will second that, I’ve put a ton of hours on a 4455 and 4555 with no trouble out of either one of them

I have a 6110m and bale a 5x5.5 roll. It handles the bailer fine, but you know it is back there on big hills.

how many bales per year are you looking into baling? WHat size baler are you looking into, have you already got anyh other hay equipment? these answers depend on which way you go.. If your wanting to stay afloat, its one thing to hobby farm cattle, but things get diffrent when its your sole living, new paint ruined more farms than anyh other thing.. IMO

It wouldn’t make sense to spend $50,000 on a tractor to roll 300 or less rolls a year. If you have a cutter and rake, may be better to hire out just your baling, and do the rest on your own. Just stuff like that Helps a lot. But with that being said, I ran a 2950 JD for years, prob one of my most favorite baling tractors I ever had, Baler had a bale kicker to no reverse needed much. 4040 JD is a fine tractor as well, Some deals out there on some older HP, 7110 Case IH was a great baling tractor as well, the way it was geared.

Man I passed a 4455 mfwd pulling a 20’ batwing up in TN today. I’d give my left pinky finger for that tractor

If that’s the case, get you a JD 6430 and let her bump.

You got a JD baker. Why would you pull it with a lesser tractor?

Maybe, but their netwrap is only rated to 275 degrees.

I've typed baled on my phone 1000 times and it changes it every single time. I catch it most times.
