Just wait. This year it's a simple "required to record". Next year they'll begin issuing fines to the processor for not doing the state's job for them.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

Or arrest a processor for possessing deer without a confirmation number.
Or even better, they'll take all the "contraband" deer from the processor and leave hunters without their meat and the processor in the sh*t with everyone.

Some of you are trying to turn this into a political or it's my land and I can do what I want to wildlife thing. The wildlife belongs to the state. This is nothing more than several hunters in our state not obeying the 3 buck rule and this is one way to catch or keep hunters from violating the rules. unless you process yourself of course, but the state figures most hunters won't do that. so all you guys saying well I guess I will be processing them myself, you're telling on yourselves!

I talked to the lady at Reeds last Monday - she was beside herself - but had great points - imagine taking in 50-75 deer and then adding the amount of time it would take to record the numbers from hunters who could barely register the dang thing, much less go back and find the number once they did. I had already decided to use a processor in Montgomery this year but now realize its too much trouble to fill out paperwork to have my BIL transport it (he drives right by it on his way home from hunting) and then give the info to them. Ill just go back to the good ole days where we process it ourselves and separate it into "fry meat" and "stew meat". I hate it for the true Deer Processors that will lose business because of this. Reeds will be okay as long as the beef and pork keep rolling in like it is. The waiting list at most places is several months.
Clem is dead on about the whole issue!!
I will just give the prpcessor the # and keep them in business.

I kill a couple every year for my non hunting neighbor. I drop them at the processor in his name and he picks them up and takes them to work to feed the fire station where he works. I guess this year I'm going to have to tell him to go buy him a license and game check them himself. Way to go chucky. Now you are taking food right out of our first responders mouths.
