I've always liked Gates extra hot out of KC for a thicker sauce. But memphis vinegar sauces are my go to probably because that's what I grew up on.

Not a fan of gates BBQ though. When in KC there are a dozen better options.

Craig's BBQ sauce, out of De Valls Bluff Arkansas, is the best sto-bought I've ever had. I also use Head Country from time to time. But I usually make my own vinegar based sauce to taste with what I have on hand.

Been on Blue Front BBQ Sauces for a bit. Give it a try you've possibly never seen or heard of it. I see someone mentioned it earlier so a few people must know about it.

A little local place..still haven't found or made anything that beats it! Before they opened the restaurant, they sold their sauce at local gas stations. I found it in '87 or '88 when I came to school and have been buying it since. I usually get 2 mild and one hot to mix them (1/2 bottle of hot in each bottle of mild).

I’ve seen Blue front at Publix before. I’ll try it next time I go shopping.

This one:
stick of butter
3/4 cup -catsup
1/2 lemon, sliced thin
3 tbsp- Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp- dry mustard
1/2tsp-red hot sauce
2-tbsp sugar
1 cup-vinegar
1 cup- water
1/2 tsp-salt1 tbsp-
chopped onion
Bring to simmer, and let stand to cool.

This is the sauce I referenced in another thread about the Stadium Fundraising BBQs in Selma.

Not a traditional sauce but I tried some stuff I bought in the store that was a combination of Jewish and Chinese sauce. May have been called Ak Voy or something like that. That was some good stuff on some smoked chicken legs and wings.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

KC masterpiece original with the juice (au juis) collected from the meat and a good splash of fresh lemon juice mixed in.
