Time to start buying your own processing equipment. If I cant get it processed, itll sure cut down on the deer we kill. Im not going to waste one. I dont have the stomach to cut up meat for hours. I reckon if it were life or death, I could get through it but it would be tough. I hate its that way, but it is.

May be a great time to get in the processing business if you're willing to stand your ground and do it by the books. It's simple really.
Truck pulls up to drop off:
Processor: Hey bud how y'all doing?
Old boy: good u?
Processor: Good.. .That's a nice fat nanny you got there in the bed of that truck.
Old boy: Yep
P: Got your papers?
OB: yup
P: Alright then, how you want her cut up?
Or
P: Got your papers?
OB: Nope screw chuckie
P: Well bring her back when you get your paperwork. We'd love to cut her up for you.
Easy...Peasy

The app crashed the night before opening day of dove season. Just imagine what will happen opening day of deer season Again? How many years have we had an app and how often has it crashed or been wonky? Geez.

I know, I know , if the guberment and chucky would stay out of it, this wouldn't be happening. But, the regs are there now so, it's the public that will dictate how many more call it quits. You know, support your local small business unless I have to spend 45 Seconds filling out a form.

How can Chucky and Company hold the processors responsible when they aren't state licensed , are not regulated, have no oversight board and such? Or will that be next?

Whoever is in posession of the animal also needs to be in posession of the document. Doesn't matter who it is. Brother in law, co worker, pawpaw, neighbor, that you gave it to or processor, taxidermist or yourself. What's that saying? Posession is 9/10ths?

I hunted in Georgia, as well as Alabama, for many years. A few years ago, Georgia tried something like this and the processors said, hell no. I believe it came down the the state backing off because of the threat of lawsuits based on it not being the processors job to enforce the law. I know for a fact that the processor we used refused to ask us for the info the state requested. How long ago was that? About three years ago, wasn't it? I jus t looked at the Georgia DNR "harvest record" regulations, which pretty much mirror Alabama's. Georgia's "harvest record" FAQs say you to give a deer to someone you must fill out information about yourself-date-etcetera "before transfering it to another person." But then the next sentence only mentions "friend/family" and no one else (like a taxidermist or processor).

Time to start buying your own processing equipment. How about it's time for a LARGE group of WELL INFORMED hunters get in front of a TV camera and say "HELL NO!" Every 3 years of so there's a new reg passed that everybody loses their mind over until 3 months after it's implemented, they've accepted it and moved on. Is this ALWAYS gonna be the path AL hunters take? When is enough, enough? Any of y'all got the balls to support the processors and make a stand or you gonna just piss and moan while you bend over? FWIW, I hunt exclusively in TN so this don't affect me.
Get the F out of the BATFE. The F is guaranteed by the US Constitution. Those other letters are not.

Ive yet to see any place you would stand up or draw the line. Its always just "do what they tell you to". Thats just not the cloth Americans are cut from. Never has been. This is a country formed out of rebellion. I keep hearing folks say "let's just go to tags". That's where I'll stand up. I dont like tags. 1st you get 3, then 2, then 1, then you go to a draw system. That's Bullshucks. Let me be clear. I dont like gamecheck. But, it's here so, I use it because I'm not an outlaw. I don't like this new system. But, its here, so I will comply until it changes. Because I'm not an outlaw. I hunt my own private acreage. Just my son and I. We could kill all the deer we wanted to without game checking them and if we wanted to process them ourselves and we'd probably get away with it. But we don't. We lease property in Kentucky. We follow their 1 buck rule too. But we bitch about it because we'd like to kill more. If there is an opportunity to vote against gamecheck and this new reg, point me to the ballot box. I've said it on here before. I like to stand up for small business like the processor. He's been dealt a shucks hand with this new deal for sure. It would be easy for me to say " hell with it, I'll do my own" and let the processor fight the battle without the resources my $'s provide. Or I can continue to support him and hopefully he and others can take those resources and fight it. They can't fight it with empty coolers.

Game Check is a failure. This is the next step to forcing compliance.
Next will be taxidermists, right?
Not next, now. You have to furnish the transfer doc to the taxidermist as well. Whomever is in possession of the deer must have documentation. Its coming but not yet for us taxidermist. Talked to my area game warden already. I'm not sweating it either way.
