Jmudler that fox business segment leaves out some major parts of the statement Goodyear said. They basically confirmed they allow BLM and gay pride stuff but not anything else while trying to deny it. Looks like Fox is running cover for them.

Here is the concern part for me. Someone posts a image, without any logos/letterhead and claimed it was Goodyear training. It became truth. So either:
1) Goodyear is lying,
2) Goodyear employee decided on his or own to make the slide to instill their values
3) The image was completely made up

Now, I dont have a issue with promoting political parties in the workplace ...... or not. Either everything is allowed or nothing. Same goes with race based branding. All is in or nothing at all.

Thats the problem with social media is it allows users to form their opinions on a subject based on their emotions before any facts come out. Goodyear has stated that they did not create nor distribute the slide. But, everyone has formed their own opinion based on the emotions created by the visual, including myself, whether it's legit or not? You can't put the paint back in the bucket once in on the wall.

As far as their stated policy in the post above from hallb, that's pretty standard wording for most large corporations and is usually written by a 3rd party. Any of us that have worked for a company with more than 25 employees have probably signed a receipt for an employee hand book stating we received and agree to policies that contains the same or similar verbiage.

Goodyear probably owns 85% of the pursuit tire market (police tires) and wins most state bids for the tire contracts for city, county, and state vehicles.

They denied the slide show originated from their corporate office not that it came from any of their offices/locations. Nor did they deny that it incorrectly states their policy. And then from what I posted that came from their twitter:

"...we ask that associates refrain from workplace expressions in support of political campaigning for any candidate or political party, as well as similar forms of adovocacy that fall outside of the scope of racial justice and equity issues."

So in other words, no MAGA stuff, no all lives matter stuff - but BLM and gay pride stuff is A-OK.

Same for most corporations. Thank goodness No Biden Stuff either. When they clock in, they need to go to work and stop campaigning for their friends.

But supporting BLM is just fine with you while working. Fly that gay pride flag while working, no problemo. Hey, I got an idea, ban all of it, why is that so damn hard?

No, that's not what I'm saying. I think when you clock in you should check it all at the door and go to work. Don't clock in and then go take a 10 min crap, or eat your biscuit, or check out ALDEER.COM or Facebook, etc. Go to work. I'm not arguing with you. We just interpret things differently. All large companies have equal rights and discrimination policies and all business are held to a standard whether they have a written policy or not.

I work at the tire plant in Tuscaloosa and they have already posted up some very liberal intentions for the future of our company and the plant. They have put it in black and white writing saying how the hiring process for the future would be shifted towards more minorities. They have also said that 100% of employees would be put through a diversity training course when in the past those programs have been voluntary. So my point is, all major manufacturing companies of tires and whatever else they produce are going this direction. I have no doubt in my mind that the pic posted is an original pic that Goodyear sent down. I would post screenshots of the memos sent to us via our company ap to prove what I just said, but I would most like lose my job for posting company info like that.

BLM is a political organization. As evidenced by the fact that when you go to donate to BLM, it takes you to a DNC/democrat run "vote blue" site to place the donation. Goodyear's response was carefully worded by both their marketing a legal staff to provide plausible deniability whichever way the ball bounces, if the issue is investigated and pushed further. They have already openly approved of LGBTQ stuff and BLM stuff so you have that little blurb of weasel language about equality and civil rights issues and then they say it was not created or distributed by Goodyear corporate. More weasel language right there. It was drafted and distributed by a thrid party vendor at the direction of Goodyear corporate. Notice that they 100% did not say that it was not reviewed or approved for publication by goodyear corporate. They say they did not draft or distribute it. They themselves did not, the third party that they hired did it for them. Once again, a true but very misleading statement. The whole thing smells of the typical butt covering, political correct, corporate BS that I used to deal with on a daily basis for over 20 years. Having been a senior executve in multiple divisions of several large publicly traded companies, I can say with 99.9999999% certainty, that I've seen this stuff on a first hand basis and halb's interpretation of their statement is 100% spot on and correct. It was wordsmithed by professionals to justify what they have been doing in the course of regular operations while at the same time trying to put out the fire that Trump just lit with 1000 gallons of gasoline directly below their ass. I hope they get exactly what they have coming to them.
