at 16 years old any pocket knife will be lost in a year. I would probably go with a cheap buck light with clip and a kabar skinner fixed blade for hunting. aint much better than the skinner model 1233, and they sell for about $35 on ebay.
I was going to say this. Don't spend too much on one now. Wait until he's a little older. Even really great 16yo boys go downright stupid for a few years while that frontal lobe is developing. They can't keep up with crap except chasing ladies.
