Is it worth it to us or worth it to you? Depends if you want a 350 with a carb or 420 with fuel injection. If a grand doesn't bother you, buy the fuel injection or make damn sure you run 100% gas in the carb'd one.
You should be able to find 350 ranchers in the 05-07 years for 2-3k. Is that the range you see?

I have a 350 that has been fine. I rarely drive it, though. Usually use the Pioneer. But the 350 gets through unbeaten paths better. For this price range I think you'll be fine with either, assuming they are good shape.
Is the 420 4wd or does that matter to you?

I'm looking at getting a Honda ATV. Thinking I want a Fourtrax. Best 4wheeler ever made. IMO We've got an old blue one on the farm. Thing still runs and drives like its brand new. Cranks at the hit if a button. Sometimes I even pullstart it just to go back in time for a few seconds.
