I’ve said it before so I’ll say it again, an 870 and the BPS have killed more ducks than cancer, are budget conscience, never jam or hang up, and will make you choose your shots better. The older I get, the more I love my BPS in the duck woods

I got a 3.5 BPS when 3.5 inch shells first came out. You don't need 3.5's BTW.
I still have it. The BPS has killed thousands of ducks. It will get it done. If you get into a day where you shoot 50+ birds it will beat you up.... but most hunters don't see consecutive days like that. I still take it with me for a backup gun when I go on trips. And I carried it to the blind for years to give to clients if their gun malfunctioned.
You would see similar results from an 870 I just like the BPS because it throws the empty down at your feet and doesn't leave empty hulls all over the top of the blind.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

Get in touch with LUMPY. He has a Winchester SX2 for sale that will make an excellent First duck gun. Thanks for the advertisement. I have a SX2 with 26" that has decided to quit ejecting 2 3/4" shells but seems to shoot the 3" and 3.5" shells just fine. I've quit duck hunting and use a 20ga for TSS. Let me know if you're interested and I'll shoot you some pictures.

It got it shiny again. I also found out about a tiny gas port near on the inside of the ring on the barrel when you remove it. Mine was completely clogged and I poked around in there with a metal pick and cleaned it out too. To be honest, after all that, the gun still can’t shoot a box of cheap target loads without hanging up. I have to shoot high brass dove loads or 3” duck loads to get it to eject. I can’t even practice with the gun like I want to.

I figure I could get it working if I really needed it to work. but I have my primary SX2 and a "pretty" Browning gold that I use now when wing shooting.
