Troy, you don't believe that 5 hens per county are getting killed?? I'll bet that many are killed by pure accident or novice hunters.
Personally I got no problems shooting hens, especially where there's too many. When the gobblers are still henned up on the last day of season, you need to thin some hens I dont agree with needing to kill hens, but you are 100% correct on the rest of it. I'm not sure why some are so naive to it.
