Pastor Chris is pretty conservative in his political beliefs. However, the Bible says that you should not cause each other to stumble, and him liking those posts did just that. It gave heartburn to some of his congregation regarding the pastor publicly supporting one political party over the other. While I don’t think his apology was necessary on a personal level, I don’t have an issue with it from a pastoral standpoint. He needs to be able to minister to people regardless of their political affiliations, and he may not be able to do that if he’s liking staunchly conservative things on social media.

The Bible also says something about truth, and being honest. The pastor was doing exactly that and he owed nobody an apology.
