There is no doubt that the Irish were treated unjustly by the British and the hatred is very deep rooted and is for several reasons that has persisted for many, many years. There are socio-economic reasons including land grabs from Irish families and widespread indentured servitude. Then there were massacres led by Cromwell. Perhaps the chief reasons though are religious reasons, basically Protestant vs. Catholic.
