On June 9, 1772, a local vessel out of Newport was under way to Providence when its captain baited the HMS Gaspee and led Duddington into shallow waters near Warwick. The Gaspee ran aground at a place that is now known as Gaspee Point. News of the grounding quickly reached Providence and a party of fifty-five, led by a man named John Brown, planned an attack on the ship. The following evening they surrounded and boarded the Gaspee, wounding Duddington and capturing the entire crew. All were hauled ashore and abandoned, to watch as the Gaspee was looted and then burned.

I am going to make a distinction.... there was no reason for the officer to continue to hold the guy down with a knee to his neck. He's at fault for this man's death.
But a lot of the counter argument I am seeing here is the same as CNN assuming all Cops choke people out with a knee on the back of their neck. That isn't true.
How do we get back to where people comply with a police officer's orders? That's the real question at hand here. The answer.... I don't know. The deceased man had no reason to think that these officers were going to kill him. That is completely absurd.
So the real question is what do you do as a police officer when someone resists arrest?
What you don't do is choke them out and kill them. That's obvious. A serious error in judgement was made in this case.
One the other side of the coin in my mind he deserved to get an asswhippin when he started talking and resisting. Fake $20 bill, trunk full of Cocaine or a couple Suicide Bomber Vests..... could be the same thing. When people decide they are going to stop complying with law enforcement AND when law enforcement becomes to scared to do anything about it...... we are going to be in REALLY bad shape. Everyone.
Someone rolls up to a checkpoint with a car... maybe its a car bomb. I tell them to stop and they don't stop.... they get killed. Simple as that. Iraqis and Afghans get it. They don't speak English. Its what is required to maintain civil obedience. They got rights too.
Are we in a war zone? Maybe not. I'm not as sure about that as I once was.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

From what I’ve seen on the interwebs the cop that took a knee has been arrested.
He will be dead before long.

The evil people pouring gas on this fire are the same ones who propagated the myth that we needed to shut down the country for a seasonal virus.
Same evil.
I have no sympathy for this leo. If this video is the sum of the findings, he needs to be punished harshly.

If you cant see the difference you're dumber than I imagined. More than half of those "alleged" protestors are not even residents. They're bussed in and paid. It's part of an agenda.

If I was black, I'd probably be rioting too. You can say what you want but if a white man had been put in the same situation by the PoPo in MN, he wouldn't be dead. I'm not in favor of Looty, but damn somethings got to give. I know the statistics about criminals and the color of their skin, so none of you have to quote them to me. I'm a white man that lives on Sand Mtn. Sand Mtn is also known as Meth Mtn. Most people on meth from Sand Mtn are white. Being white and being from Sand Mtn does not make me a math head. That same logic can be applied to people being arrested and the color of their skin. I don't blame black folks for being scared of the PoPo and for running, or resisting arrest. They're scared they're gonna die. This is exactly the reaction the media is trying to elicit by only showing events that fit the phony narrative. Have you seen the video of the black guy punching the defenseless elderly white people in the nursing home? If you did, you sure as hell didn't see it in the media. It is out there, they just don't mention it. Biden is out there now saying this country is eaten up with systemic white racism. What a load of crap. Have seen the nursing home video on Fox; it's disgusting

Not a good comparison. The guys that targeted the ship didn’t indiscriminately burn the rest of the port. The guys that dumped the tea in Boston didn’t go burn the shops across the street. They were rebelling against the monarchy. Raid a British ship, destroy British tea, those are actions against a specific entity. The folks in the streets in MN are taking advantage of the protests and looting businesses that have zero affiliation to the government. Yeah, they got around to burning a police station but they didn’t go burn the mayors office or go torch the police motor pool.... they looted a target and a bunch of liquor stores. If the only violent actions had been against the government Id say it’s a good comparison, but that’s not the case. that was over 200 years ago, tactics change. But the criminal behavior of the patriots would have gotten them hung for traitors had it not worked out. I'm sure the other 97% of the population was running around and bad mouthing their behavior at the time. Everyone wants to be a 3%'r nowadays, until its time to do 3% chit. edit to add, they hit motor pool the first night.

Granted, I've only skimmed through this thread and posted a couple of times, I haven't read every post......but I don't think ANYONE here is defending the looting and destruction of private business/property that is unrelated to the original incident.
