Got up to the club this morning and it was a foggy son of a gun. Took me about 50 minutes to make to 30 minute drive because I couldnt see anything. At 6:14 I heard a bird about as far as you can hear one off of the property, it was dead still and I know about where he was at because of the donkey carrying on near him and he was close to a mile the way the crow flies. He gobbled 3 times on the limb and that was all I heard at daylight. I walked and owled, cut, tried it all and didn't hear a peep. I finally decided to head back toward the truck and walk through some pines and just set up on a big hardwood ridge and just call every now and then and see if they would ever sound off. It is still foggy as all get out and about 7:30 when I get to the edge of the pines and let out about a 6 note yelp and get a response at about 250 yards off the edge of the ridge. I set down right there and knee my gun. I hit him again and he sounds farther away. I give him a few minutes and hit im again and he cuts me off and closer. About 5 minutes goes by and he gobbles on his own and closer so I cut him off. He hits me again and in about 1 minute I can hear him drumming and getting close just over the crest of the ridge. I saw a white head go by a hole and thought he had already passed me on the lip of the ridge, but I am pretty sure it was the jake I have been getting all of the pics of with him all spring that I just about shot. I give him another soft yelp expecting a gobble from the right and he hammers to the left where he had been but this time he comes at me and into the same hole the jake had just passed. I can see a full fan and see him gobble so as soon as he cranes that neck again I let the Nitro train loose on him. He fell dead and didn't do anything but the turtle on it's back air kicks. He is a big bird and I could tell from the trail cam pics that he had a good rope and good spurs. He weighed in at 22# on the nose, had a 10.5" beard, and 1 1/4" spurs. I don't think I have another gobbler on the place, but I will be back tomorrow to check and see. right where he fell Thick as I have ever seem coming out of his breast. Turkey porn The call I made this week that ended his life. 2 reed Ghost

Congrats dude... Me and the wife were covered up by them this morning but she has a few family members that don't like me hunting on the family farm and they purposely bumped 7 big ol gobblers off us about 15 minutes after fly down. Went to another farm and called in 2 jakes but I wasn't going to shoot those, ill be back after them after lunch.
We are not perfect, only forgiven!!!

Uuuummm, I would be shooting some relatives if I drove all the way up there with intentions of killing a turkey and some jackleg intentionally messed with me like that. Sorry for the hijack....congrats on number 4 Yekrut!

Congrats again Brandon I don't care at all, I probably do it all the time to others and don't think about it. Hijack away on anything of mine.
