Apparently a white female purchased a firearm at WoodsnWater in Tuscaloosa today and then went to the parking lot and got in the car put the gun under her chin and pulled the trigger. I pulled up just as she was being found. Beautiful blue sky. You just never know what people are going through.

The true mark of a man is not how he conducts himself during times of prosperity, but how he conducts himself during times of adversity.

So many people affected by something like this. Paramedics will be left with a lifelong image seared into their minds. Family members left behind
with questions that will never be answered.

"The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him."

Very sad and very well may have been attributed to the coronavirus. Prayers for the family.

That's sad

Dang that’s horrible. That’s the first I’ve heard of that. These are stressful times right now. Some people were already dealing with stress before everything went south.

When I worked at Larrys. a guy comes in, 40s, seemed decent, bought a single shot .20 ga and a box of #4 for coyotes. Went home, blew his head off in the driveway. After the funeral his father came in, looked me up (name was on the receipt) put the gun and shells on the counter, told me what happened and asked for a refund. Store manager heard conversation and handled it. Shit happens.

I’m sure the father was going through a living nightmare but that wasn’t fair to you to put you on the the spot like that. How did your manager handle that with you and the guys dad?

I even insisted he get the #4 for the coyotes. I've had worse happen. This was years ago. I just happened to be the guy behind the counter he ended up with. Manager handled it very tactfully and with respect. Complete refund and condolences.

It is sad but when your down like that you'll do anything to stop the pain. Depression is a killer. Y'all would be amazed at the power God gives you when you see someone you know and just ask "Hey you doing alright?"

I don’t think there’s a single person on this earth that’s ever truly wanted to kill themselves. It goes against our most primal of urges. They may want the pain to stop or not see a path forward but I don’t and will not believe they want to die.

I should say with one exception.... I’ve been with cancer patients (family) at the very end and they were begging for death in the last hours with all the morphine they could be given.

You may chose not to help. But there is always something you could do. If nothing else, pray with them or pray for them.

Very true. I saw a guy the grocery store i went to high school with and he looking pretty rough but as usual i avoided him. 2 days later he hung himself on his front porch. Kind of a gut punch moment for me. I'll do better from now on.
