When I worked at Larrys. a guy comes in, 40s, seemed decent, bought a single shot .20 ga and a box of #4 for coyotes. Went home, blew his head off in the driveway. After the funeral his father came in, looked me up (name was on the receipt) put the gun and shells on the counter, told me what happened and asked for a refund. Store manager heard conversation and handled it. Shit happens.
I’m sure the father was going through a living nightmare but that wasn’t fair to you to put you on the the spot like that. How did your manager handle that with you and the guys dad? I even insisted he get the #4 for the coyotes. I've had worse happen. This was years ago. I just happened to be the guy behind the counter he ended up with. Manager handled it very tactfully and with respect. Complete refund and condolences.
