wow ... ok, some of you may recall my "battle" with my local carrier over the height of my mailbox; thankfully, that all got resolved - through the Office of Inspector General & Senator Richard Shelby's office ... i actually have had smooth sailing since they cracked the whip; so much so, I can even mail parcels from my own mailbox now -- and they arrive on-time, without issue ... but NOT to be out-done by that, i'm now in another sparring match w/the USPS -- i shipped a cast iron skillet to a buyer roughly 2 weeks ago, and it arrived on his doorstep with the box blown open & the cast iron skillet cracked on the handle end ... now, bear in mind, i've shipped probably about a dozen skillets now over the past 3 years -- so i've learned to pack iron properly; normally i wrap the handle & and the walls of the skillet with a $1 pool noodle from DG, *and* i make sure the skillet is not moving around in the box, nor would it have any means of escape if handled properly ... since i shipped with Priority Mail, it includes $50 insurance covered - which covered the sale of this to the buyer ... thankfully, i took pics of the skillet PRIOR TO send it to him -- so i could prove that it was un-damaged prior to me selling/shipping it to him ... i filed a claim to just get my money back out of it -- and it was denied -- this was after the buyer took the skillet to HIS local USPS PO, they inspected it along w/the damage to the box, and AGREED that it had been mis-handled/damaged by the USPS ... i'm glad I saved my contact to the OIG office in B'ham -- b/c that lady now has a voicemail from me to look into this new matter ... the wonders never cease to amaze me ... i have appealed the denied claim today on the USPS website & provided additional details -- along with a message that i will raise this all the way to the OIG if they deny it a 2nd time ... AFTER SHIPPING: BEFORE SHIPPING:

Intentional damage. She's pissed at you. I hope you get her fired.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Intentional damage. She's pissed at you. I hope you get her fired. you can bet your backside that's EXACTLY what went through my mind; through the grapevine i've heard since my other "escalation" took place, the managers have been riding herd on everybody ... wait till they hear about this one ... a voicemail is in the OIG's office as we speak - just have to be patient & wait for them to call back the KICKER on all of this is -- the buyer's USPS PO was wanting to give him money on the spot -- IOW, they've fully admitted fault for the damages ...

How much force does it take to crack a CAST IRON skillet handle?? Probably launched it from the truck with a trebuchet She probably used the skillet to whack other folks' mailbox posts until they were no longer within USPS regulation, thereby freeing her from responsibility of delivering their mail. It's a conspiracy.

While I believe you are being truthful got no reason not to believe you, explain to me if I was USPS why I should believe those 2 pictures are of the same product and you are not just trying to get one over on me (USPS )? Is that marking 7A unique to that skillet or are there a 1000 of them with 7A, just asking you got it; this is a unique BSR Red Mountain “transition”’skillet - believed to have been made after the Century series began being manufactured after 1950;’most Red Mountain skillets have much larger numbering/lettering — this one has very small lettering

That pains me to see a piece of history lost due to carelessness. If it was a pure accident, they should own up to it and cut you a check. BTW, that skillet was my very first choice when you posted them all but I moved too slow.
Cast iron is funny. Tough as all get out but fragile. I bought a cast iron camshaft which came in a cardboard tube. When I was handed the tube, the camshaft popped out of the end of the tube on to a hardwoo warehouse floor and broke cleanly at the middle. The dealership graciously ate the cost, about $70 bucks, then.
I recently had a laziness issue with USPS that was difficult to resolve but that was mainly because the entire chain of command was democrats.
