IF Biden is elected and has a medical condition that renders him unable to fulfill the duties of the President the VP will take over and the Speaker of the House assumes the VP position.....thats how Gerald Ford became President even though he was never elected President or VP....... Not correct. Nixon appointed Ford as his Vice President when Agnew quit. Article II, section 1, clause 6 of the constitution provides that in the event of a vacancy in the office of Vice President, the president appoints a new Vice President who is then confirmed by a majority vote of both houses of Congress. I stand corrected....
