Not correct. Nixon appointed Ford as his Vice President when Agnew quit.

Article II, section 1, clause 6 of the constitution provides that in the event of a vacancy in the office of Vice President, the president appoints a new Vice President who is then confirmed by a majority vote of both houses of Congress.

When the vice president assumes the office of president he can then choose his own vice president who has to be approved by congress. VP does not automatically go to the speaker of the house.

Isn’t that what I just said in what you quoted?

You are correct, Sir.

Ford was not Speaker of the House , Repubs were in the minority when Nixon was Prez, I do think Ford was minority leader.

Originally the second place finisher would be VP. Glad that was changed. It wasn’t always clear that the VP ascended to President until William Henry Harrison died.

When Ford became Pres. then he got to pick his VP. His top 3 to pick from where Rockefeller (who he picked), Donald Rumsfeld, or George Bush. Now we can talk about career politicians.

If that happens, Biden is dead meat, guaranteed, and she could flat-footed own up to it and not be held to account. She is a politician in every sense of the word, and she has dirt on EVERYBODY just like J. Edgar Hoover did. She’s untouchable or Trump would already have her head on a pike.

She won’t tolerate being second fiddle to anybody for long unless she has a clear plan to occupy that top office.
