I killed one a week or so ago and have a couple more opportunities but they stayed just a little out of range. I also called one in the other afternoon for my oldest. He took took out two trees instead of the bird š. That bird didnāt gobble until 6:45 that afternoon and I called him in from around 500 yards out. He didnāt shoot until 7:15. I was really surprised that he even got a shot with it being that late in the day. Then two days ago, I called two different birds in for him and he never shot (said he thought they were to far (one way 30 yards and the other came in to 35 yards) were back at em again today and havenāt heard the first bird. Maybe itās the weather that has got them tight lipped.
I had much rather be tried by twelve than carried to my grave by six!!!!
