Always wanted one and if I get a stimulus check I just might get me one. Would you rather have a 22 lr or 22 mag. I am thinking Browning or Henry, which would you buy? Anyone own a Henry pump 22, if so, what do you think of it?

Marlin Golden 39A and 39A were the absolute best shooting .22 lever guns I put my hands on. I have shot Brownings and Henry's, but just not in the same league to me.

Second the 9422, its real, not Henry potmetal innards. The 9422 for the lack of a better description is like a baby marlin 336 action. I like a 22LR because when I carry a mag its too tempting to use on big game. You put the money down on a 9422 and you have a good piece but may have trouble if something breaks. I don’t care for the Marlin 39, not fond of the Browning but they are built pretty good I have an Evil Roy that I had to send back twice to get it right. Its right now though. The Henry Evil Roy handles and looks dang great if you are on a budget. They will make it right if you have a fluke like I did. https://www.henryusa.com/rifles/henry-frontier-carbine-evil-roy-edition/Henry has a flavor for about everyone when it comes to rimfires If you scope it https://www.diproductsinc.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=1034044&CAT=8630Just my two cents, if you ain’t into bling, like speed, less cleaning than a semi, get the pump. If you like a quality feel, the Evil Roy. I’m not a fan of the longer heavier golden or silver boys but many are.

Yep, Winchester 9422 is the best! I have one like new I bought back in the 90s and paid $245 new for it. I wish I would have bought a pickup load of them.

Of those two, I'd go with the Browning. The Henry will get the job done, but the Browning is all steel and I love that short throw lever. As already mentioned, If you can find one, you can't beat the 9422. I have one in a magnum I'll never get rid of. They are slick and accurate, but expect to pay $6-800 for a good used one. As for the long rifle vs the magnum, if you want to shoot it a lot and want to squirrel hunt and rabbit hunt with it, I'd go LR. If you want a truck gun that kills way better than it should and don't mind spending $10-12 a box, get the magnum. I've killed several hogs and turkeys with mine and coyotes would be no problem. It will still handle rabbits and squirrels, just have to be pickier with your shots.

You can double up on cheating in FL.... Shoot a Turkey with a Rifle from a Ground Blind.
Zero skill involved.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

All in perspective. Folks don't say that about hunting deer with rifles. I Turkey hunted with it because I liked toting the little light rifle, not to increase range. Farthest I've ever shot one with it was 75 yards. Most were 35-40 yards. Until about 4 or 5 years ago, it was legal to hunt turkeys with rimfire rifles on most public land (centerfire was legal on a very few). Rifles are only legal on private land now.

Go turkey huntin an talk to locals down there...they look at you funny when you tell them you huntem with a shotgun. My neighbor asked me once..."why would you hunt a turkey with a shotgun an try to get them close to you when you could just shootem at 200yrds with a 243"....they dont see it like we do.

Shooting one in the face with a shotgun at 20yds, and watching it flip him over backward like you hit him in the head with a baseball bat, is what makes it so unbelievably satisfying.
