Just got the call from Mothers nursing facility, Informed me of positive case of a resident. I have not been able to see her since they locked down. The gentleman has been there for a good while and it had to be brought in.

Dang...prayers lifted for your mom and other residents of the facility as well as the workers. Hopefully they were able to isolate and contain before spreading it.

This is copied form one of my dearest life long friends. They live in Chicago.... I obviously don't have a pic.

Our family is in desperate need of a miracle💔
This is a picture of my brother in law Mike, he is married to my oldest sister Heidi and they have 2 daughters that are 18 and 15 years old.
Mike was diagnosed with the Coronavirus earlier this week and as of last night he is in an induced coma and on a respirator. His chances of survival are very low.
Please pray for complete healing for Mike; pray for my sister and the girls as they are not allowed in the hospital and have not been able to see Mike since Tuesday, pray that Heidi and the girls stay healthy as they have been exposed to the virus, and finally, pray for peace for my sister, her girls, Mike’s family, and the rest of our family.
Psalm 23:4
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

More than that now, just not reported.

I know of two people who have it.

One was at a big event in Birmingham earlier this month and said it's the worst thing he's ever had. He still is getting over it. The other found out today and has diminished respiratory capacity, fever, body aches and no sense of taste or smell.

I know of another awaiting test results.

Prayers sent for the ones you know that are affected. Please everyone be smart and don’t blow this off as flue or allergies. The bottom line on this one is that it ain’t just about YOU getting it. It’s hyper contagious and deadly to a lot of people.

It took the U.S. a month to go from 1 death to 1,000, and in just the last 48 hours to go from 1,000 to 2,000.

It's going to get a lot worse before it improves, in large and small towns, and it won't improve for at least another 3-4 months or longer.

I hope it's much sooner, they create a vaccine and things get better. But I'm not optimistic for a whiz-bang-snappy "it's gone, let's go!" outcome.

I wonder what the magic number of deaths would need to be for it to be acknowledged that this is, in fact, worth the restrictions put in place.

I saw a statement made by a superintendent somewhere, I think, that said something similar to, "We may never know if we have overreacted, but it will be very obvious if we did not do enough."

I certainly agree with that statement.

20,000 deaths is a typical viral season death toll that we've historically done virtually nothing about. That's probably the bellwether. With 330 million, 30,000 is probably a reasonable number.

With the flu, people have the option and ample opportunity to get a vaccination. Whether you believe in the annual "flu shot" or don't get it, the option exists.

Thousands still die from the flu annually in a wide range of ages. Probably a lot of them are elderly and already immune-compromised in some way. Even with the vaccine for the flu and other preventative care for other diseases, people still get sick. We hear every year about washing hands, cleaning surfaces, getting a shot and other preventative measures, and people ignore them.

This covid virus was ignored for too long. People traveled to and from Europe, and Asia until the ban in January, with little information or any care at all that it would do anything here. Even after alarm bells were sounded, they were and still are being ignored by many.

With a 40-day possible transmision period and no vaccine, the potential for this is great. Another 4-5 months is going to be a tough row to hoe.

As Texas Huntress posted, "We may never know if we have overreacted, but it will be very obvious if we did not do enough."

What I’m worried about is the people who think it will just Peter out or magically go away. Keep kicking the can down the road, and this will drag on for a year

Until a vaccine is developed it's going to be an issue. Viruses don't just disappear. They're around. People get the flu in summer. Not as often, of course.

Corona cases are increasing in Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico, primarily are in the bigger cities, yes. But if the "this virus won't survive in the summer heat and dry conditions" is true then they shouldn't be seeing significant increases.

Hopefully they'll come up with a vaccine soon.

I just saw pic of beach goers on a beach in Jacksonville Fl. Those people are the reason why we have to have curfews and such. If we ever are gonna open up businesses people like that can’t work in those businesses. All it takes is for an asymptomatic carrier to contaminate something I’ve purchased. There is no 100% effective way of cleaning an item’s creases, cracks, and crevices. People don’t understand how easily germs are transmitted through every day activity. Learning how and when to use gloves along with proper hand washing technique can go a long way in slowing the transmission if germs.

I haven't seen anyone say it can't survive summer heat, what was said it high heat and humidity makes it less easily spread.

BTW, when I say curfew, I don’t mean people leaving their house to go hunting, fishing, getting gas, or any other solo activities. I mean house partys, large meetings and other gatherings. Like the idiot pastor in Louisiana that is still having church services of 1,000 people. I have no doubt he’s worried about his paycheck and not the health of his people. Look at Louisiana’s Covid numbers.
