Was raised on it. Just about always there was a fresh loaf on the stove when I came home from school and I would get some and sit on the back doorsteps and feed my big white pet rooster who ran out to the school bus to meet me. (Teet-Teet). Now a days a special treat since I’m not suppose to overdo on bread (type2).

Had some Butter milk and Wild Turkey around the campfire one night. Next morning I could $hit through a key hole from 30 feet!

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

Make you own. Get a gallon of whole milk, set it on the counter for a week or two and you'll have buttermilk. Nasty, nasty stuff. Required for good cornbread though.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I'll drink a glass all along......my daddy used to crumble up fried cornbread in a bowl and pour buttermilk over it all the time.

Didn't like it as a kid but love it now. Picked up a quart tonight. A couple of swigs straight from to bottle is damn good.

ok, rule number ...673...booze and milk products never mix well. 2 bottles of wine and ice-cream desert end up in the parking lot of the really great restaurant you just had dinner at.

bourbon and a finishing cheesecake...same results. even mudslides with jagermeister will come back up...trust me I know.

54 here and I concur. It's great for biscuits, cornbread and such, but drinking it? I'd have to be severely dehydrated first.

Here's a gold nugget of truth for everyone...

Go to Steel City pops in Birmingham and you a Buttermilk Popsicle. This is one of the best things in the entire world. I could eat my weight in the things.

When we have company functions they usually bring their ice cream truck/wagon up there.

A big ol glass before bedtime will make you sleep like a baby. It's full of protein and probiotics too. Good stuff and good for you.
