Good morning all. Me and my wife are wanting to get away from the house next weekend but want to stay in Alabama. So I got a question for y'all. What is something we can do without going to the beach?

Cabin in Mentone

We actually looked at the cabin in Mentone it is an option. But we wanted to see if yall had something we didnt know about. And we're open to ideas. The biggest thing we like to do is eat. So some good food is a must. Lol.

You're one of the few people with any common sense. Everyone else is cancelling all travels plans due to Corolla virus.

Not in Alabama, but a bed and breakfast in Natchez, Mississippi is a very nice weekend trip. Since you are already in Pickens County just drive over to Mathiston, Mississippi on 82 and turn south on the Natchez Trace and just take your time and enjoy the ride with no traffic, stop signs, red lights, dipshit drivers, etc...

There are several places to stay in Natchez and some great restaurants and bars, plus there is a self guided walking tour of the historic district. Stay right in the historic district and everything is within walking distance.

We've done that trip several times and Mrs. Irish always loves it. It's like a small, cleaned up New Orleans.

Also not in Alabama, but tough to beat staying at the White House Hotel and eating at Mary Mahoneys in Biloxi
