Conservation related bill - Ran across this one today. How do you feel about paying deer farmers/high fence operators for their deer if they are seized by the state or Feds to be destroyed due to CWD? SB 263 sponsored by David Sessions of Mobile is in committee and establishes a $500,000 fund that would pay owners of captive cervids up to $3,000 for each deer seized and destroyed due to CWD. http://alisondb.legislature.state.a....aspx?BILL=SB263&WIN_TYPE=BillResult

Those are privately owned business and should be treated as any business that suffers loss If there is insurance for such then they should have it and if not tuff luck It absolutely should not be on the shoulders of the good people of Alabama to pay for

I reckon they should be treated like any other farmer. If theyre doing business on the up and up and paying their taxes, they should get the same help as any other farmer in a disaster situation. They are farming deer, like it or not. They're not regulated by the USDA.

Is there a fund to pay our cattle ranchers for beef critters that get the Mad Cow? If they can't insure the deer it is only because they haven't called Lloyd's of London.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I don't think y'all are looking at the big picture. This may be private land but this is the States deer. This is YOUR deer. The deer are maintained with money and manpower from the DCNR. YOUR money. They count inside the pens toward Game Check there for have a bearing on seasons and limits. YOUR deer are held for use not for YOU and the general public, but for a select few privately inside a fence. Now, with this, the private land owner would be paid for the deer. Deer they don't own. YOUR deer. I couldn't read the article but that dont make any sense.

Will Ainsworth, any other questions?
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.
