Can yall explain this thought process to me? I hear it all the time. I know I lost without selling. Just an example, you have 500K invested and take a loss of 50K. Yeah you can make it back but back being key. That's like saying a man with 500K worth of cattle loses 35-40 head of cows, yes he can make it back but he still lost.


You haven’t lost or gained anything... not one red dime until you sell. It’s all on paper until that point so that’s how.


Its on paper but can be cashed out when you are at a gain, even or at a loss. At that perspective I have a large herd of black angus if any of yall want to invest. Great returns in the long run. We can work out a paper deal and you never have to see the cattle. If the market drops you are not losing anything. I can't fathom the no loss deal and argue it when it comes up. My opinion is that it is a method for not weeping over a loss.
