Good info so far and I appreciate it. This pond is in Horton, AL.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

F1 we’re fingerlings, we out bream 100-1 over bass and catfish 50-1. Talapia 100-1 and added fatheads the first time after 4 months. We fed Purina daily from day 1 and added progressively for the first year continuing to add fatheads and talapia
I wouldn’t have anything but the F1 those ponds were some of the best bass fishing anywhere by beginning year two were catching 2.5- 3 pound fish that fought like 12-13 pounders and you could catch 30 an hour on a good day. By year 4, 6-9 pound were common and way fun 100-1 bluegill to bass?!? Surely not. Our stocking rate is 40-1. Alot of places(state included) recommend 10-1

I’d stock it with threadfin Shad this spring and stock it with bream and bass next spring. I wouldn’t even drive by it with a catfish.

Somebody might assume you dont enjoy catching a big catfish I do enjoy catching a big one, but I don't enjoy catching them from a pond. Blue cats are pretty rough on baitfish and bream and bass fingerlings.

Does anybody know what it cost them for a 3-5 acre pond dug I have no idea. We don’t do the construction side. However, it is highly variable depending on what all has to be done (dirt moved, where it is hauled to, equipment used, etc)

I can’t comprehend it being anywhere near that low.

100-1 bluegill to bass?!? Surely not. Our stocking rate is 40-1. Alot of places(state included) recommend 10-1 I was told up front the F1 would hammer the population and even at that no adult bream or catfish were ever seen or caught. [/quote] Something else happened. I stock lots of ponds at 40:1 and have great results. Just shocked one a couple weeks ago that I shocked that will have had bass 3 years this June. Biggest bass we got was 6.5 lbs. Not arguing with you, something just isn’t adding up. I do this for a living and see lots of ponds. I would love to have someone stock a pond 100:1. I would like to see that population after a few years. 100:1 would be 5,000 bluegill/acre and 50 bass/acre. Growth rates would be unreal! But bass would have a hard time spawning
