I got my stuff last week and finally took time to tie up some jigs. I was going for a Monkey Milk color scheme but the chenille I got is darker than it looked to be on the website where I got it. I know a guy who use to try and snag crappie with a red treble hook. He called the hooks a "Red Eyed Toughie" so that's what I'm calling this bait. I trimmed the maribou on the first one, it looks like crap. The others don't look great, but I think they'll catch crappie. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/76vRPp73/C27-BA532-A341-474-A-B4-F6-D7-B6332054-BD.jpg)

Thanks guys. Seriously, do you think the maribou tails are too long? I'm thinking they are. Hayman, I'm gonna guess they take 3-4 minutes each and that will get much quicker when I actually figure out what I'm doing. LOL

Just my opinion but the one on the bottom looks about perfect. Any of those will catch fish. Those jigs will be much more durable than a jig with a plastic grub also.

The bottom one was the last one I tied. I intentionally made it shorter. I like it best too, except the chenille didn't snug up against the back of the head. I don't think fish will mind that though.

They look good, I don’t think the tails are to long, just me. I’m sure you know this, but try some squirrel/deer tail, in place of Maribou, it’s seems to fall slower imo. Or for shooting purposes they seem to anyway.

Thanks guys. Daniel, no I didn’t know that. I’ve never used hand ties much so I don’t know much about them.

Just for clarification purposes I didn’t catch that fish and it wasn’t caught on a jig that I tied
