So like every year i do my taxes myself on turbotax online. Well no changes this year. 2k difference in my income. I made 2k less due to health down time. So i did my taxes and im getting about $1500 less this year! Im pissed. .Did anyone else know why im getting screwed? Im pretty dissappointed. I support 1 kid and my full time student wife. I get screwed while the folks with 5 kids and a house wife make a fortune. I wonder why im getting way less this year?

I have checked it over and over. Im gonna try H and R block online before i send it. It gets old working for everything i have and see illegal children get free healthcare while we get denied Allkids. We are broke cause my wife is a student while her friends with 5 kids and no education or job gets 10k? Thats whats wrong with this country as well. The average joe just trying to have a simple life is getting screwed the most.

Because the government “borrowed” less of your money for free all year or your getting less of someone else money they you didn’t earn. Plain and simple. Really there is no other reason

less withholding thru out the year you got the $1500 it was just spread out over 12 months. be glad your not one of us poor bastards that end up owing them six or 7 hundred or more dollars

A tax refund is just that, a refund. If you’re really concerned about it, hire an accountant to do your taxes. They usually can easily recoup the cost

Did your child tax credit change? Are you comparing apples to apples. What was the total tax bill last year vs this year? Are you looking at state and federal or just federal?

I'd just as soon I get $0 or have to pay a little. If I was getting $1500 back I'd do some changes.

Go to a legit tax person, I would get back less than a thousand from a H and R block type business. After I found someone that knew what they were doing, I got way more back. This year I've been told there aren't as many tax breaks as years past.

Less income + less tax paid = less refund. Does that spell it out????

True. If you're getting big refunds, you're doing it wrong.

Trump ended several tax deductions. BUT he also cut taxes. I don't get to claim mileage on my truck any more but overall I pay less in than before. If you want to get more back, just loan the guvment more and then file to get it back.
