Meopta scopes have great glass, but are just too heavy to suit me. The Optika 6 3-15 x 44 mm is 27.3 oz.
Compare this to the Leupold VX-6HD 3-18 x 44 at 21.3 oz, and the Swarovski Z5 3.5-18 x 44 at 15.9 oz.
Yeah that makes great sense. Let’s compare the Meopta’s to scopes that are 3x the price of the Optika 6. Lol Optika 6 is about $550. Z5 can be bought for about $1100, and the Z3 is even lighter and can be bought for about $700. Leupold has dozens of models that weigh far less, as do most other makers. Optika 6 still weighs a ton. I have no clue why it is so heavy. I just picked two that I had been recently looking at and knew the weight. There is no reason for a scope to weigh that much.
