Not sure why I decided to give it a try today.. it’s dang hot and I’m still sweating from the walk in.. as long as the skeeters don’t carry me off I’ll be ok🤔..set up on a small field and roadway hoping something wanders by.. my son is in the tripod hoping as well.

Muddy ride into my spot. Stiff N wind coming right at me. This warm weather for mid-January is for the birds. Rut should be kicking off here anyday now.

Nada so far. I figured after the rain last night they would’ve been moving sometime this morning. This might be a long day!

I’m settled in on a hardwood ridge. Hoping for a hot doe to cruise through.

How do you hit anything with that bent barrel?

You just have to get bullets that match the contour of the barrel

I like the string on the end of the barrel letting you know the wind direction. Old timer taught me that when I first started hunting after he saw me whip out my wind checker bottle. Every gun I own has thread on it now.

Went to a spot on this property that hasn't been hunted in a while. Walked in at 1 and of course there is a stud 7pt out there on a food plot and I didn't see him until he saw me.
