I’m hunting Freedom Hills this morning. I’m set up on a hardwood ridge with red oaks and scrapes. It’s time for the rut here. I seen 4 bucks and 3 does and 13 pigs yesterday in two climbs. Only one shooter buck and no shot. No shot on the pigs either. Should be another good morning. Good luck y’all.

I have seen 1 doe and 4 bucks. Only 1 buck was a shooter. He came in grunting and got within 25 yards and then turned and left me with no shot. To thick on this ridge with all these cedars.

Love JD Bowhunter’s posts.
The dude hunts all the time. And he’s always around critters.
I’m kind of fired up about bowhunting again.
I been toting bow and gun last couple sits in case a “cruiser” came by out of bow range.

JD gets after it. I’d say one of the reasons I started to hunt public is reading his post on here as well as the guys at The Hunting Public. To hunt deer is one thing but if u can actually harvest a deer on public ground, especially with a bow, in my opinion you are amongst the elite hunters. If my count is right, I’ve taken 25 deer with my bow but none mean more to me than those I’ve taken in places I’ve never set foot on until I’ve scouted and planned and it all worked out on public ground. Best of all it’s mostly FREE!

You hunting the A side or B? I’ve never even seen signs of hogs on the A side

That is “A” side. I always hunt “B” side but the gates was open, so I picked a field furthest from the road and climbed. I hate to waste an arrow on them pigs, but I was planning to shoot one. If I knew I wouldn’t have got in trouble I would have climbed down and closed the gap and emptied my 45 glock. I figured it would be frowned on and decided against it. I hate pigs and how they eat up all the whitetail food.
