Got an 8 pt on camera half the size of a doe, height wise. Thought it was camera, but have several photos now from several different pov’s.

One of our guys shot an 8pt last season. It’s was the shortest deer I had ever seen. Decent set of antlers but very small body. It weighed 85lbs. Strange looking little thing.

Had one that was nearly normal size and legs
about half the length of a normal deer.
Saw him struggle to get across a 6 ft. wide branch.

National forest down here is full of them. Mature bucks that weigh 125lbs and less

We will burn that bridge when we get there

Didn't a hunter down around Autaugaville or Wetumpka, somewhere down that way, kill a minature buck about 4-5 years ago? I can't find the story in a Google search but I distinctly remember it. The buck looked like a large dog with antlers.

We have two body styles at our place. Normal body size and long legs and normal body on short legs.
Not a buck but I did spot a midget doe a few years ago. It was with about a dozen others crossing a railroad track. It was the size of a three month old fawn but had no spots, and the face was proportional to that of a mature doe not the shortened face of a fawn. It was so short it had to jump over the rails. This was in February

There was a "miniature" 8 point killed in Shelby county some years back. Was on some Gulf States land between Calera and Columbiana I believe.

I came across this video from "Longtine Outdoors" the other day. He has a couple of videos where this deer shows up. I think it's Marengo County. https://youtu.be/fr0bvl7TmTQ

In the late eighties around FT Stewart a good mature buck would have the average size of a German Shepard. I shot a 9 point that was an old, grey faced, sway backed, pot bellied 83 pound monster that couldn’t even break my aluminum arrow that had bounced off his opposite shoulder hard enough it was still sticking out both sides.
I felt sorry for the poor old bastard hopping around blowing blood out. The arrow had gone through the back edge of one shoulder socket and the very front edge of the other

That’s some of those deer that the state brought in from Oz.

I knew a guy who had a article written up by John Bolton I believe on one he killed. Had a dang nice rack just really small deer. He killed that one somewhere around sterret 15 years or so ago.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!
