Have you guys seen the uprising of younger hunters that claim they hunt to get away from factory farming? It seems to be a trend in other states. I've seen them mention that not everyone hunting is a dumb redneck with a gun. I've never considered myself a dumb redneck, but I'm sure after spending a day with me they would think that I am a redneck. I never heard of factory farming before now. Im not wild about the thought of 50,000 chickens in one place, but it's part of life. I don't know what their problem is with farmed cattle unless they don't like the antibiotics the cows get. Kinda reminds me of the anti vaccination bunch of liberals. I'm all for new people learning this way of life and enjoying the sport, but it seems to be another way of sissyfying something great.

Thats how south west texas is...if it aint sittin in a shootin house on a corn feeder you can bout hang it up. We had some hunters down one weekend and we needed to kill a bunch of deer but the part of the property we were on was recebtly aquired and it had seen previous slaughter by the prior land owners...well we wudnt seein many deer so we put on a good old fashioned deer drive. These folks had know idea what to think but we killed about 15 deer that weekend because of it and they were tickled to death..was quiet fun for me as well...i shot a few on that deal..we had an absolute blast

I haven't encountered any of those types but have encountered some guys relatively new to hunting and its kinda funny to listen to them complain about not seeing deer after several guys have done everything to help other than tying one up so they can shoot it.
I'm sure they'll catch on after a few seasons

Hunting was far much gooder when it was reserved for us inbred uneducated kuntry folk.
I blame Jackie (pussy) Bushman and Ray Scott for absolutely ruining hunting and fishing.
Anytime you need to ruin something, add people.

My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

There has never been a more accurate statement made on Aldeer.

I’m for whatever sells hunting licenses since those numbers do nothing but nosedive and the median age group rises.

You are for non-immigrant aliens buying a hunting license just so they can purchase a firearm?

Actually, I'm for NIA buying a hunting license. But they need to have a "sponsor" that signs with them and are held responsible for their actions. So if a hunting service has NIAs that want to hunt they can but the hunting service signs and is responsible for them. If the NIA goes off the reservation the signer reports them and a manhunt insues. Buying firearms is a no go for any NIAs.

The guys off The Hunting Public technically fall into that category. I’m a big fan of theirs but they are a little granola.

So does MeatEater.

Don't know why I'd care about someone else's reason for hunting.

You correct on your thoughts but that's not how it works right now
If any NIA wants a firearm all they have to do is get a hunting license and from this last shooting its painfully obvious that our enemies are educated on this loophole in the law

Why are there stipulations for who and how people enjoy the outdoors?

You ever seen any of the large feed lots? They aren't much better than chicken houses. I still eat beef, but that's why I'm buying some of fur flyins cows. It's not what you see around here. Watch Food Inc. It's a documentary on factory farming. Support local farming!

Maybe I should’ve worded it differently, since you all will spin anything that doesn’t adhere to what you’ve already got your mind set on.

These people are buying a hunting license to hunt. They are not buying a license for some obscure loophole to purchase a weapon. Of course I don’t want an illegal immigrant buying a gun legally this way. Why would you ever consider that being my point of view unless you’re just trying to stir the pot? I’m trying to state some facts. Hunter numbers are down and we see this by less licenses being purchased each year and the age of those buying one going up. Buying a license funds conservation, along with a multitude of other activities I’m sure you enjoy. So what if some yuppie wants to shoot a deer because it’s non GMO. Who TF cares? We as hunters should be accepting of all hunters because the anti hunters would just assume to do away with us all. They see no difference between the two.

If ya'll are just now catching on to hunting becoming a sport for "others" ya'll need to open your eyes. The latest push for the millennial aged and health conscious is just the final nail in the coffin. It all has to do with making it a country club sport to weed out the common folk. With $25/acre leases, $2500 rifles and $5k scopes, $5k blinds, $500 tree stands, etc etc hunting is no longer affordable for common man. Making it a health conscious decision as well only improves the investment.

Hunt public land, use an 870 slug gun, sit on the ground, etc. etc. All the expenses you just stated aren’t necessary to kill a deer.

I thought several on aldeer only ate "grass fed beef", and raised their own cows? They say it tastes much better and is much healthier. Isn't this the same thing?
