The show is based on the real thing. That's what the Vikings did. I have no problem with the show and actually like it a lot. I believe there have been lots of online discussions focused on just how inaccurate that show is at depicting what the real vikings were like. Not saying that Vikings weren't badasses or didn't kill a lot of people, but the show is a show designed for entertainment purposes. Actually, I've watched this show from the beginning and they have had the actors and actresses travel with Viking experts to learn about how they lived. They had 1 hour shows preceding the actual viking show a few years back, showing them at known viking lands and villages. No, its not a documentary, but they do try and portray it as accurately as they can, especially it being Hollywood.
