It may be legal now but nobody I hunt with will be shooting any spotted fawns. It doesn't surprise me honestly though this State manages the deer herd like it is a pest that must be eradicated at all cost and sadly some citizens of the State seem to agree.
i honestly think the state has a drive behind it that they want to be able to do tags in the future. in order to do that, theyd need enough evidence to show a thinning deer herd, which would happen if people are in the woods killing 60 pound deer.
to me, if they actually wanted to do that, why not just extend season or do a muzzleloader season at the end of the regular season. theyd get pittman robertson money from the sale of all the new muzzleloaders, and theyd thin the herd
