Deer can be shot with their face in a corn pile now so shooting a spotted fawn shouldn't matter, either. It's just a deer.

If we want to get into the "Aw, it's just a baybeeee!" game then we can set regulations with emotion and say a sandhill crane or wood duck or turkey is gorgeous and shouldn't be killed.

Biology is what matters. The good thing is if anyone does not want to shoot a spotted fawn, just like with a doe or spike or piebald or whatever, don't do it. No one is forcing you to do so.
