Did Saban not call a timeout? He and the team were in the tunnel to the locker room. From the stands it looked like he called timeout,
In that case, the clock doesn’t start until the snap. No one was charged with a timeout. Saban said that the clock should have run out before the snap, so I would guess he didn’t call one.

How is it possible to kick a FG with 1 sec on the clock? Really? if you listened to the game tv ref. said it was reviewable, therefore the clock starts on the snap, once the ball is snapped play is not over till the whistle blows Or did I just get hooked and fileted? Incorrect. The clock starts on the ready for play whistle. It is supposed to take 3 seconds to be able to snap the ball after a ready for play whistle. They should not have been able to get a play off. However, if Bama hadn’t given up 2 pick 6’s, the field goal wouldn’t have been an issue. Once again beating themselves. How does it take 3 seconds to snap the ball when you are set and ready when the ready for play whistle blows? I think AU proved that theory wrong.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

A 101 missed field goals in thirteen years. Pitiful. With a perfect season in 2012 Jeremy Shelley never missed. Seriously Saban would have 8 or more championships at Bama with just a good kicker each yr

Kickers are either the most sober and square headed guys on a team, or they are the most drug headed hard partying rock stars on a team. I think Saban just happens to get the latter version. If he would let his kickers have a beer or two when the game gets close there would not be any missed field goals ever again.

Reviewable plays are different that others so the three second rule is out the door. It was ok when Saban did it against us but we ran it back. We called a timeout with 1 second left. Big difference. AU didn't have a timeout left to burn. The refs essentially gave them a free timeout and that's what Saban was upset about

Because the initial call on the field was time ran out, so players hustled to the locker room like they do every game.
