Does it seem like there have been a lot fewer kills the first week of the season this year? No one I know killed a deer opening weekend or week. For as long as I remember a few folks I know have killed a buck or two in that first week.

I was planning on hunting hard this week but havnt cuz weather...i went a couple evenings and saw couple does...im quail hunting tomorrow for 1st time in November...just feel like I'll screw up a deer hunt

Sounds like way fewer around here also. I suspect bad hunting weather also and looks to not be improving until Monday when people go back to work/school. But then we will start our Dec. lull.

I really think where I am there is just fewer hunters. Long story short, because of rumors of turmoil with a company that owns property that joins mine, I've been watching their roads to see if it gets leased. No activity yet so that's about 1500 acres unleased.

I notice other roads with little to no traffic.

The biggest processor of the county is down right now also.

I have yet to hear a shot I thought was deer/hog/coyote. Only ducks and handgun shooters....and they obviously have an unlimited supply of ammo.

We must be neighbors. I'm hearing something around 1000 or more handgun shots, in the distance, nearly every day

Besides last weekends gun hunt at oakmulgee I bet I haven’t heard 15 shots all year including youth weekend.

WE normally have 1 good buck killed opening weekend but not this season. Now things have picked up we have had 4 bucks killed in 3 days.

Im on par killed a 180lb 4.5 year old 10point Sunday evening. My dad killed a stud 6.5+ year old 7pt yesterday morning he weighed 235lbs.

It hasn't exactly been primo hunting weather where I am. I haven't seen the activity I normally see but could have killed a deer every time I've been and I've been all but 2 afternoons since muzzleloader opened. I'm not messing with processing a deer when it's 70 degrees. I think ill fish until it cools off

Usually we get one good by end of this week. We will see.
