I did not know Big John except as an acquaintance but those that knew him well said he was a throwback sheriff. A man that got out there and worked not someone that sat behind a desk all the time. It looks like that is what cost him his life. The word is that he told this punk to turn his music down and was shot in the back as he walked away. Glad they caught the kid already.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I'm in Lowndes county at my hunting camp now. I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to tell some punk to turn down the music when I stopped at that store. Glad I never have. Prayers for the sheriff's family. What a senseless loss of life.
