St. Clair County. their are monsters but they are within privately held, un-hunted lands. First time St Clair Co has ever made the "best" deer hunting county list. Ever Yep and hopefully the last. Not any deer here.

my wife and I killed several bucks over 150, some way over, on the Jefferson/St Claire line.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

IIRC, the biggest deer on record came from Jefferson county, jus sayin.

I'm beginning to think that Game Check represents where most hunters are, not necessarily where most deer are. There's just no way that Jackson has that much deer density.
I'd probably have to choose something in that Montgomery to Selma path. this. ^^^ I certainly wouldn't include Clarke in a top 10 list of hunting counties in Alabama for deer. But I would include it in a top 5 list of people hunting for deer. Yep!

Chambers Co. specifically 5 points area. Only thing I ever killed in Chambers county were does and small rack bucks over a decade. Hunted off CR 160 near 5 points. I remember lots of turkeys and does but never saw any big rack bucks. Great commercial quail hunting back in the day but not deer hunting.

I'm sure there are some areas in St Clair that grow good deer, but the majority of St Clair is not big buck producing ground.

Jackson county has the most Alabama Whitetail Record entries followed by Madison..... those are actually the counties the deer were killed in Thats cause theys eleventeen hunnerd millyun people huntin up there...i make fun of marshall co alot...cause we really aint got no dang deer..but truth bee told...jackson aint much better..pokets of decent hunting but fo the most part..i wouldnt waste my time or money...thats just me personally...an ive hunted that dang place my whole life.
